Nappy rash is an irritation of the skin anywhere usually covered by a nappy, while it might be a little sore for your baby, the good news is that it’s not usually serious.

How many wet and dirty nappies should my baby have?
Some babies can poo whenever they feed and others, especially if you are breastfeeding, might go for several days without a poo; both situations are completely normal.
In the first 48 hours after your baby has been born, he or she should produce around three or four wet nappies. After day five, this should increase noticeably to around six wet nappies every 24 hours. Speak to your midwife or your GP if your baby has gone for more than 12 hours without producing a wet nappy.
